Hunger Games means Brunch Games

Guys, I am so excited. Today AJ and I ordered our tickets to see the Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 next month! For the past few years we’ve been going the first Saturday morning it’s open in theaters. Nothing like popcorn for breakfast to kick start your day, right? What makes this even better is going to a theater with reclining seats. Each row is like one long comfy sofa and you can put your feet up!

And want to know something even better? We only paid about $8 total for both of our tickets! I have my AMC Stubs member movie-loving husband to thank for that.

I read the Hunger Games books (without shame) a few years ago when they were at the height of their popularity. However, since so much time has passed, I find myself forgetting parts of the story line and a lot of the smaller details. On one hand, it’s kind of nice because I’m watching the movie from a somewhat fresh perspective; but on the other hand, a movie can’t replace a book and all the written details and nuances.

I’m not sure if I’ll have time to re-read Mockingjay within the next month, but maybe I’ll pull a high school cheat move and try to find Spark Notes or some sort of detailed summary to jog my memory!

I’m also excited to follow the movie up with brunch (you know I love my brunch!) but I’m having a hard time deciding where to go! I want to stay on the Upper West Side, and preferably go somewhere new. My struggle is there are too many options.

Help! Any New Yorkers out there with suggestions for me? 🙂
