Good morning party people! I hope everyone’s having a great Friday. I took a little break before Thanksgiving, but it’s time to get back into my Friday Favorites groove.
I stopped into HomeGoods earlier this week and of course couldn’t resist leaving without a little something for myself. I could spend hours in that store.
While browsing the aisles, I found this little guy all by himself and decided for $4 he needed to come home with me. A little porcelain juicer!
Macy’s Charlie Brown Windows
I left the office for about a half an hour yesterday afternoon to run an errand and decided to take my chances and stop by the Macy’s Holiday Windows. This year, they are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of “A Charlie Brown Christmas”! Fortunately (and miraculously) it was not all that crowded when I walked by and was even able to snap a few photos before getting totally annoyed with the tourists. 🙂
If you’ve spent any time on my blog, you have probably figured out that I am a big pizza lover. On Wednesday night AJ made his signature Mozzarella, Prosciutto and Caramelized Onion pizza and, wow. We both agreed it might have been the best batch he has ever made. I went back for thirds! Three slices and an episode of Modern Family was just what was needed after a long day of work.
I love throwing Christmas parties. I love decorating, planning the menu, and cooking (even if I do tend to go overboard cleaning and prepping – this will be me one day – “There cannot be any sign of living in this house!” Haha).
I don’t really have the time to put together a party this year, so instead I decided to host a family Christmas brunch tomorrow morning! It’s going to be small, just me and AJ, my sister-in-law Alyssa and her boyfriend Nick, and my brother-in-law Justin and his girlfriend Jess. One way I stay organized when party planning is to make a list! I make lists for everything, and this a picture of what I need to find at the grocery store. (And because grocery shopping in Manhattan is the worst, I’m sure I won’t find everything in one place.)
So, what’s on the menu?
There was a special request for my Chicken Wing Dip so that will be ready and waiting when everyone arrives. The main course includes a French Toast Casserole with Praline Topping, Egg and Cheese Quiches (from Trader Joe’s!) and a side of Candied Maple Bacon. I’m also way too excited to try my hand at Mulled Wine in the crock pot.
I know what you’re thinking…I’m really good at cooking healthy brunch foods 😉
And don’t worry, recipes and pictures will follow!
PA Lottery Commercial
This one goes out to all my Pennsylvania peeps.
Do you guys have a favorite holiday commercial? I think a popular one is the Hershey Kiss “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” ad, which is such a classic.
However, my absolute favorite is the Pennsylvania Lottery Christmas Commercial. It’s been the same for as long as I can remember, and I think that’s what makes it so great – all that nostalgia and childhood memories of the Christmas season!
When I’m home over the holidays I’m usually lucky enough to catch it on TV once or twice, but when I need my fix, I turn to YouTube.
Do you guys have any favorite commercials this time of year, or am I just a weirdo? 🙂
