Happy Friday! I am super excited to be heading back to NYC today. I’ve been in Phoenix all week for a work trip, but there’s no place like home and I can’t wait to get back to it.
But first, here’s this week’s post of Friday Favorites!
I was so excited when AJ got me the 2016 Weekly Simplified Planner in Gold Pineapple from Emily Ley for Christmas! I love staying organized and make a lot of plans and lists on my phone or on scrap papers but since I consider staying organized a hobby of mine, I’m so excited to have all my lists and plans in one place! (Plus, isn’t there just something so nice about writing everything out? Or is that just me?)
She has so many cute books, planners, notecards and more on her site. You should check it out if you’re looking for a cute and fun way to stay organized this year too!
No Equipment Needed Workout
I’ve used the resort gym a few times this week for the treadmill, but I didn’t have time to go every day. I love workouts that are easy to do from wherever you are, no equipment needed!
Here’s a workout that I posted in the fall, and was able to sneak in a few rounds of it this week in my hotel room.
Rent the Runway Dress
I ordered another Rent the Runway dress for an awards ceremony my company had last night! Of course I was thrilled with my last RTR selection, and this Elizabeth and James dress caught my eye immediately.
The dress arrived and fit fine…except the zipper. It would just get stuck every time it reached a certain point! Fortunately AJ and I were on this trip together, so he had the task of zipping me up…but he couldn’t get it either. Finally we called in my friend Penina. I laid on the bed and the 2 of them tackled the zipper until it worked! Hooray! (Luckily taking it off was much easier and I didn’t have to sleep in my LBD haha).
I don’t have any great selfies of the dress because I forgot after the hassle of actually getting into it, but here are a few pictures that others took of the night! (I also got my hair blown at at Dry Bar…it’s my new LOVE.)
Gaslight Mystery Series
I love reading. I’ve always been a bit of a bookworm and fortunately was able to catch up on some reading this past week, especially on my 5-hour cross country flight on Monday morning! One of my favorite series is the Gaslight Mystery Series by Victoria Thompson.
I love history and all things NYC, so these books are right up my alley. This is a fictional series set in the late-1800s Manhattan that follows the lives of a mid-wife and police detective who crossed paths, formed a friendship, and seem to always find themselves involved in solving murders together around NYC. It highlights the cultural and societal norms of the time, plus there might also be an evolving love story too! 🙂
I actually read most of the books in the series out of order originally so I’ve decided to start again from the beginning (yes, I think they’re that good!). This past week I’ve finished Murder in Chinatown and Murder on Bank Street. Up next is Murder on Waverly Place! I’ll likely start it on my plane ride home this afternoon 🙂
Well that about wraps it up for this week, TGIF people, I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
