Friday Favorites #14

HAPPY, HAPPY FRIDAY! I’m headed to Pennsylvania after work today to visit the family for the weekend, and looking forward to AJ finally making his way home on Sunday. Despite my travel home, it should be a pretty low-key weekend, and I could definitely use that.

But first, you know the drill, here’s a look at some of my favorite things from this past week!

Spring Wardrobe

It might still be 30 degrees here, but I am ready to ditch my tights and wool sweaters for bare legs and arms. If you read my Texas weekend recap, then you saw one of my new dresses from Express!

I’m totally digging the off-the-shoulder look this spring and love how flowy it is. I paired it with a simple pair of black pumps for our dinner date that night.

By the way, I think I need a selfie class. Like, I literally cannot look normal when I try to take photos of myself. Also, apologies for the horrendous lighting.

I also couldn’t stay away from these J.Crew Leather Mules and put some Christmas gift cards to good use this week! I think these will look adorable with the above dress, but I’ll let you know when they arrive in the mail. 🙂

Good news, both of these items are on sale at the links above!

Il Mulino Bolognese Sauce

When I got home from my weekend travels, I discovered that I didn’t have much food in the house, and I also discovered that I had even less of a desire to go grocery shopping. Fortunately I found a jar of Il Mulino Bolognese sauce in the cupboard and decided to make some pasta for dinner on Tuesday night (and enjoyed the leftovers last night!).

For my NYC friends, we found it at Gastronomie 491 on the Upper West Side, or you can order it here! In terms of jarred sauce, it’s definitely not a cheap option, but such an easy way to bring the flavors from one of the best NYC restaurant into your own kitchen!

I enjoyed mine with a side of garlic texas toast, red wine, and Netflix. Speaking of….

Fuller House

Who’s been watching Season 1 of Fuller House on Netflix?

I’m seriously loving it and even had to fight back a few tears during episode 1…nostalgia gets me every time. I’m about halfway through the first season, and so pumped that Netflix signed on for season 2!

Does anyone else find it majorly unfair that everyone looks better than they did 20+ years ago? I mean, really. Candace Cameron Bure is my new girl crush.

Much Needed Motivation

Friends, my workout motivation is still at an all-time low. However, you never regret a workout right? (Blah, blah, blah <- my actual thoughts as I type this.)

I follow Jillian Michaels on Instagram and took this screenshot yesterday. How true is this?

I’ve been looking for every excuse to go home right after work instead of going to the gym, but once I finish my workout (lately it’s been this one!), I not only feel proud of myself, but just so much better and more energetic. Getting there is just the hardest part…

*Remember my 30-Day Plank Challenge if you’re looking for somewhere easy to start! 😉

Tips for Pinning Back Bangs

When I got my haircut at the end of January I decided to add in some side bangs. Kinda regretting that. I mean, they look fine, but they’re just a bigger pain-in-the-butt with short hair than I anticipated and I find myself wishing them away on a  daily basis.

Clearly this means I’ll be growing them out, but in the meantime I need some hair inspiration. Pinterest led me to this handy dandy site, 18 Ways to Get Your Bangs Out of Your Face, and I’ll obviously be trying out the styles that require the least amount of hair styling prowess.

From the Interwebs:

That’s all for today folks, hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
