Hello party people! I hope you’re off to a good start this week. I officially have Spring Fever and these warmer temps and extended daylight hours have got me smiling. I am so ready to pack away my thick sweaters and boots and break out some spring styles. By the way, who else is thrown off with the clock change? It always takes me a few days to get used to the change and in the meantime, mornings are so confusing!
Anyway! I’m here today to talk about my love for Stitch Fix. If you like what you hear and decide to try it for yourself, please sign up using my referral link! 🙂
What Is Stitch Fix?
I’ve talked about Stitch Fix before on the blog but I never took the time to go into detail on the whole process. I enjoy shopping, but generally prefer to do it online…in my sweats, glass of wine in hand. I order most of my clothes from J.Crew and Express, but because of this, I was getting a little bored with the selection and the idea of having an affordable, personal stylist sounded intriguing. What girl doesn’t need a little help in the wardrobe department?
Enter Stitch Fix! I signed up and first took a Personal Style Quiz where I was asked my opinion on various styles and articles of clothing. I could also select how much I’d be willing to spend on jeans, shoes, accessories, etc. AND send them to my Pinterest inspiration boards to see the types of outfits I’m pinning.
The next step was to schedule my first Fix where 5 personalized, hand-selected items would be delivered right to my door – I could hardly wait! When my Fix arrives, I have several days to try on each piece and think about what I want to keep, before checking out online and placing the items I don’t want in a pre-paid postal bag to drop in the mailbox.
What’s even better is that each box comes with a style card with a note from your stylist. This means I get to see what she was thinking and why she selected these items for me, as well as different ideas on how to wear each piece. How helpful!
How Much Does it Cost?
When I schedule a Fix, my credit card is charged a $20 styling fee. If I keep anything in my shipment, the $20 is put towards my purchase. If I decide I love my Fix so much that I keep all 5 items, I get 25% off my final purchase – which is a pretty great deal!
A Look At My Latest Fix!
Before each order, I have the opportunity to make a note for my stylist about what I hope to receive. I think I made a request this time around for some springy tops and shoes. Here’s a look at what came!
MIA Amari Floral Scallop Flats
I was so excited when I opened my box and found a pair of shoes! As soon as I unwrapped them and saw the floral pattern, I immediately fell in love. I am a shoe girl at heart and love this pop of color that adds some pizzazz to any outfit. I wore these the very next day so these were KEEPERS!
Margaret M Emer Jacquard Print Straight Leg Pant
I wasn’t 100% sold on these pants when I first saw them. I liked them alright, but I didn’t necessarily need pants.
That all changed when I tried them on. I think these are the most comfortable pair of pants I ever put on my body – they feel like yoga pants! Um. Yes please! A stylish pair of pants that I can wear to work and feel like I’m in my comfies…plus, I don’t own any pair of pants this color and could see myself not only wearing these to work, but around town on the weekends. Another KEEP!
41Hawthorn Moni Geo Print & Camisole Blouse
When I first pulled out this shirt, I thought it was an immediate keeper. I loved the color and I love longer flowy blouses that I could wear with jeans or dress pants.
Unfortunately when I put it on, it just wasn’t there. The sleeves were a little too puffy and at an awkward length on me. Ultimately a RETURN.
Loveappella Canon Button Detail Striped Knit Top
I wasn’t sure what to think of this piece at first. I love simplicity and striped tops, however, I just didn’t see myself wearing this enough to make it worth it. A RETURN.
Collective Concepts Kelis Dot Print Blouse
This was a tricky one. I liked this sleeveless top on me more than I expected when I first saw it, but I didn’t love the elastic waist band at the bottom.
I could make it work, but I didn’t want to keep it just for the sake of keeping it, so I decided to RETURN.
PS – the jeans in these photos are from a previous Stitch Fix and I wear them all the time!
The Summary
- MIA Amari Floral Scallop Flats ($49) – KEEP!
- Margaret M Emer Jacquard Print Straight Leg Pant ($98) – KEEP!
- 41Hawthorn Moni Geo Print & Camisole Blouse ($58) – RETURN
- Loveappella Canon Button Detail Striped Knit Top ($48) – RETURN
- Collective Concepts Kelis Dot Print Blouse ($58) – RETURN
Overall, I was really pleased with my Fix. I thought my stylist did a good job listening to my requests and I just love getting them each month! My next Fix is scheduled for mid-April and I requested a summer dress, a kimono cardigan, and an off-the-shoulder top, so we’ll see what comes and I’ll be sure to have another review for you again then!
