I said it yesterday and I’ll say it again today, I’ve just been a bit scattered with the blog this week and the creative juices just haven’t been flowing. So I’m thinking today’s Friday Favorites post is going to be short and sweet. 🙂 Happy Weekend!
Bauble Bar Sample Sale
I mentioned last week that I was planning to stop by the Bauble Bar Sample Sale in NYC so I made my way there after work on Wednesday and of course, left with some goodies! Last year I was all about the chunky necklaces, but I was feeling a little more understated this time around, with the exception of one obnoxious piece.
First, these earrings caught my eye. I’ve admired this style on others so when I found this pair in the bin for $10, I thought it was worth the gamble. I have pretty tiny ears though, so I’m not sure how great they will look. The good news is, the hanging part can be separated from the studs, so if I don’t like how it looks as a set, I’ll at least have a cute pair of new stud earrings to wear!
Then, I came across this gold bracelet, which I just love. I actually already have a similar one from last year’s sale, but I was hoping to find another one this year. A $12 success!
Next up, this gold layered necklace, which was the splurge of the trip at $30. I’m excited dress up a simple t-shirt and jeans outfit with this piece.
Finally, I was drawn to this bright pink statement necklace. I know, I know it’s really loud and probably not something I’ll wear often. But it was only $10, and I thought it would be a fun pop of color this summer when I’m tan and wearing a little black dress. I certainly have enough of those!
The sale is going on through 5pm tomorrow at 260 5th Avenue if you haven’t already had a chance to stop by.
One Pot Burrito Bowl
I made a big batch of I Heart Naptime’s One Pot Burrito Bowl recipe on Monday and have loved having the leftovers all week. I’ve brought some to lunch a few times this week and it’s been a nice change of pace from my usual salads or pb&js. One bummer though, I forgot to buy the salsa the recipe calls for! So I think it was definitely a bit drier than it’s supposed to be, but that’s alright, I just made up for it with extra shredded cheese on top 😉
Spring Outfit Inspiration
I can see me wearing my new gold layered necklace with this outfit! But, how come clothes never look the same on me as they do on the Pinterest girls? Anyone else? I will not give up though, and am looking forward to a new spring and summer season to step up my wardrobe game. Stitch Fix should help with that this year – can’t wait for my new fix this month!
Throwback Photo
This picture came up on my TimeHop app yesterday, and it always makes me smile! It’s from Easter 3 years ago when I hid Easter eggs around my apartment with clues in each one. The final egg led AJ to an Easter basket I had hidden for him in my closet. If you can’t tell by that smile, he was so excited. I wanted to do something similar again this year, but didn’t really have enough time. Oops…it’s the thought that counts, right?
