Happy Friday!!! Whew, sorry I’ve been a little MIA this week. Last weekend was busy, work’s been busy, night’s have been busy (or I’ve been lazy)…so here we are, I didn’t post since Monday 😦
I have some good posts in the calendar for next week though, including a new Stitch Fix review so be sure to check back in next week! But without further ado, let’s get to this week’s Friday Favorites 🙂
The Husband’s Secret
Guys, have you read any of Liane Moriarty’s books? I read Big Little Lies last year and just started The Husband’s Secret this week. I’ve only been reading while on the subway to and from work so I haven’t gotten too far yet, but I’m already hooked! Right now a few events have happened and I’m still trying to put together how everyone is connected. All I’ll say for the time being is I love a good mystery and this book opened up with a good one!
“Imagine your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret—something with the potential to destroy not only the life you have built together, but the lives of others as well. And then imagine that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive…”
I highly recommend it so far, and I’ll let you know my thoughts once I’ve finished it. Which shouldn’t be too long, I’m a pretty fast reader once I get into a book.
Everything about this article. Especially as women, it is SO easy to get caught up in the, “If I just lose 5 pounds…” mentality. Regardless of your current weight, it’s so easy to think, “Oh that dress will look better on me if my stomach was flatter, or my arms were more toned, or <fill in the blank>.”
Everywhere you look there is someone skinnier, curvier, taller, more muscular, less muscular, etc. and it can be plain exhausting. God gave us this one body, so we should do what we can to stay healthy and just love what we got!
Dancing with the Stars
I haven’t watched DWTS in years, but I’ve been getting into it again this season! I think the real reason is because I’m a huge Good Morning America fan and I love Ginger Zee, who has been one of the top performers each week. It’s given me something extra fun to look forward to these past few Monday nights and I always watch with wishfully thinking, “It would be so cool to learn how to do that…but I would break my body in the first week.” (I’m definitely not the most coordinated of girls!)
Yesterday AJ was working on some college campuses in Pennsylvania and I wanted to go with him since he would be near my parents, but that just wasn’t going to work out. I wasn’t too sad about it until he sent me this…
He made an impromptu trip to my alma mater The University of Scranton and I was immediately the most jealous girl ever! I can’t believe I graduated almost NINE years ago, and even though the campus looks much different now. It took me right back to walking to class or the library or hanging out on the commons during a sunny spring afternoon (like it was yesterday!). Cue all the feelings of nostalgia and jealousy!
I looove going through all my things to organize and throw out junk that I don’t need. It’s a very therapeutic feeling. So of course when I came across this article, I immediately saved it.
I especially loved #3: Set up an “action” box or basket to help you keep track of bills and other paperwork. My phone is full of random to-do notes to myself because if it’s not written down or immediately in front of my face, I will 100% forget it.
Alrighty folks. I hope you all have a great weekend. I am looking forward to sunny skies and 70 degree temps this weekend in NYC and all I can say is It’s about time!
