Happy Wednesday! Does this week feel loooong for anyone else? After a great Friday night out with friends, a busy Saturday, a lazy Sunday, and a whirlwind Monday and Tuesday, I’m definitely ready for the weekend again. Plus! I woke up in the middle of the night last night with a majorly sore throat so I’m already drinking lots of tea and popping lozenges because who has time to be sick?
It also left me searching for some “less common” ways to soothe my throat and I came across this pin I had saved to my Pinterest board awhile ago:
Hmmm, worth a shot right? I think I do have a bag of marshmallows in the cabinet so I’ll have to dig in after work today…for the sake of science, of course.
In finding this tip on my This is Handy Pinterest board, I realized I’ve saved so many helpful tips and tricks “for later”, yet I never seem to remember to put them to use. (And I’ll bet I’m not the only person who does this!)
So, today I decided to call out 10 more of my favorite household tips. I’ve not tried all of these yet, but I will be experimenting soon!
Quickly Soften Butter
I always end up either melting my butter in the microwave or ripping apart my bread when my butter is too hard. Problem? Solution!
How To Steam Clean Your Microwave
Okay, I need to do this like yesterday, but this link explains how to clean your microwave with white vinegar and a wet rag – no tough scrubbing required! (I think I actually did try this awhile ago and it worked, good reminder to give it another go.)
Finding the Perfect Avocado
I think I’m a pretty expert avocado judge these days, but I always check my avocads before buying to make sure they’re perfect, especially if I want to eat one right away!
Under the Sink Organization
This is such an easy organization solution! Why haven’t I done it yet?
Clean Your Cutting Board Without Chemicals
Click here, but all you need is a lemon and kosher salt!
Soaking Labels Off Old Wine Bottles
I love re-purposing old wine bottles to use as skinny flower vases or to hold my olive oil on the kitchen counter, but there are many ways to reuse your empties!
Keep Party Beverages Cold
Such a cute way to keep cans and bottles cold at a party. And frozen water balloons are definitely less messy than melty ice, especially if your party is indoors!
Always know which side of the car the gas tank is on when driving a new car.
I’ll tell you what…a pair or two of my shoes can definitely benefit from this treatment!
